Finance and Grants Manager Job at World Vision International Uganda
World Vision International Uganda is seeking an experienced and qualified Finance and Grants Manager to join our team in Kampala. This senior role is critical for overseeing the financial integrity and donor compliance of our life-changing development projects across Uganda.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee comprehensive financial management and grants compliance for multiple humanitarian and development projects.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for major international donors, including USAID, the European Union (EU), and United Nations (UN) agencies.
- Ensure strict adherence to both World Vision's internal financial policies and all specific donor regulations and requirements.
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for assigned programmes.
- Manage project funds efficiently, monitoring expenditures and ensuring value for money in all project activities.
- Provide financial leadership and capacity building to project teams and partner organisations.
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a closely related field from a recognised university.
- A full professional accounting qualification such as CPA (Uganda) or ACCA is mandatory.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance management, with at least 5 years within the NGO or development sector in Uganda.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience managing grants from major institutional donors like USAID, EU, UN, DFID/FCDO, or other bilateral agencies.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills.
- High proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong ethical standards, integrity, and a commitment to accountability.
