PATH, a leading global health organisation, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance and Administration Assistant to join our team in Mbarara, Uganda. Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Process payments, invoices, and staff expense reports accurately and in compliance with PATH financial policies and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records and provide crucial support during month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist the team in the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of budgets for field office programmes and operations.
- Manage office supplies, equipment inventory, and general office logistics to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning.
- Support procurement processes, including vendor communication, documentation, and management.
- Coordinate travel arrangements, meetings, and workshops for staff, partners, and visitors.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the entire Mbarara office team.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven work experience in finance, administration, or office operations. Experience with an NGO or international organisation is a strong advantage.
- High proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks, with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of local languages spoken in the Mbarara region is highly desirable.
