Job Summary
As a Credit Analyst at Equity Bank Uganda, you will play a crucial role in assessing creditworthiness, managing risk, and supporting sound lending decisions. You will be responsible for analysing credit applications from both individual and business clients, ensuring compliance with Ugandan banking regulations while helping the bank achieve its strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Thoroughly analyse and evaluate credit applications and financial statements
- Assess client creditworthiness and potential risk exposure for the bank
- Prepare comprehensive credit reports and recommendations for approval committees
- Conduct financial ratio analysis and cash flow projections
- Ensure all credit assessments comply with Bank of Uganda regulations and internal policies
- Monitor existing credit portfolios and identify potential risk factors
- Collaborate with relationship managers and other banking departments
- Maintain accurate credit files and documentation
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field from a recognised university
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in credit analysis within the Ugandan banking sector
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- In-depth knowledge of Ugandan banking regulations and credit policies
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for financial modelling
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or related qualification is an added advantage
