Chief of Party (COP) - Uganda Integrated Health Systems Strengthening (IHSS) Activity

FHI 360 is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Chief of Party (COP) to lead the anticipated USAID/Uganda Integrated Health Systems Strengthening (IHSS) Activity. This is a senior leadership role based in Kampala, Uganda, offering a unique opportunity to shape and manage a large-scale, complex health programme that will have a lasting impact on Uganda's public health sector.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide overall strategic, technical, programmatic, and financial leadership for the USAID IHSS Activity.
• Serve as the primary liaison with USAID/Uganda, the Government of Uganda (including the Ministry of Health), and other key stakeholders.
• Oversee all project staff, partners, and activities to ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency.
• Ensure the project's strategic and technical integrity, achieving its goals for health systems strengthening in Uganda.
• Lead project planning, reporting, and management, ensuring compliance with donor and organisational policies.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Systems, or a related field (A PhD is strongly preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of senior management experience on large, complex health systems strengthening projects.
• Demonstrated experience working in Uganda or a similar context is essential.
• Strong and proven understanding of the Ugandan health system, its structure, and challenges.
• Excellent leadership, strategic planning, financial management, and people management skills.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Fluency in English is required.
