Assets & Liabilities Management (ALM) Manager Job in Kampala - Pearl Bank Uganda
Job Description
Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a senior banking role in Uganda? Pearl Bank Uganda is seeking a strategic and analytical Manager for Assets & Liabilities Management (ALM) to join our team in Kampala. This is a key leadership position responsible for optimising the bank's balance sheet, managing financial risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
In this role, you will be at the heart of the bank's financial stability and growth. You will develop and implement ALM strategies that align with Pearl Bank Uganda's objectives in the dynamic Ugandan financial market.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Develop and execute the bank's overall Assets & Liabilities Management (ALM) strategy and framework.
β’ Monitor and manage interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and currency risk in accordance with Bank of Uganda regulations.
β’ Conduct detailed financial analysis, modelling, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
β’ Prepare and present ALCO (Assets & Liabilities Committee) reports and recommendations to senior management.
β’ Ensure optimal pricing for deposits and loans to maintain healthy net interest margins.
β’ Oversee the bank's investment portfolio and capital adequacy planning.
β’ Stay updated on local market trends, monetary policy, and regulatory changes affecting ALM in Uganda.
Requirements & Qualifications:
β’ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CFA) is a strong advantage.
β’ Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in treasury, ALM, risk management, or financial analysis within a commercial bank in Uganda.
β’ In-depth knowledge of Bank of Uganda prudential guidelines and reporting requirements.
β’ Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling and relevant software.
β’ Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
