Are you a passionate WASH professional looking to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable children and communities in Northern Uganda? World Vision International, a global Christian humanitarian organisation with over 70 years of experience, is seeking a dedicated WASH Specialist to be based in Gulu, Uganda. This is a local fixed-term contract position where you will provide technical leadership to transform lives through sustainable Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene programmes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide technical leadership in the design, implementation, and monitoring of high-quality WASH programmes in Uganda.
• Ensure WASH interventions are sustainable and contribute directly to improved health outcomes for children and communities.
• Conduct needs assessments and develop compelling WASH project proposals and budgets.
• Provide training and capacity building to staff, partners, and community stakeholders on WASH technologies and approaches.
• Monitor and evaluate WASH projects to ensure compliance with national and international standards.
• Document and share best practices and lessons learned to improve programme impact.
• Represent World Vision Uganda in key WASH forums, networks, and with government agencies.
• Work closely with multi-sectoral programme teams and local partners for integrated development.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• A Master's degree in Water Engineering, Public Health, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in WASH programming, preferably within the NGO or development sector in Uganda or the East Africa region.
• Strong technical knowledge of WASH technologies, approaches, and the Ugandan context.
• Proven excellence in project management, report writing, and donor compliance.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including local government.
