Job Description

Are you passionate about creating a cleaner, safer, and more resilient environment for Uganda's children? UNICEF Uganda is seeking a dynamic and committed WASH Officer (Environment and Climate Action) to join our team in Kampala. This is your opportunity to make a tangible impact on environmental sustainability and climate resilience across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the WASH Environment and Climate Action Programme implementation
• Work closely with government ministries, private sector, civil society, and youth organisations
• Drive child-centred policies and actions on environment and climate change
• Strengthen national capacity for disaster risk reduction
• Accelerate climate solutions for sustainable development
• Ensure every child grows up in a safe and sustainable environment
• Monitor and evaluate programme effectiveness in Ugandan communities

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Water Resources, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in WASH, environment, or climate-related programmes
• Strong understanding of Uganda's environmental and climate challenges
• Experience working with government and development partners in Uganda
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Knowledge of local languages is an advantage
