Economic Recovery and Development Coordinator Job at IRC Uganda - Kampala

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) Uganda is seeking a dedicated Economic Recovery and Development Coordinator to lead our programmes aimed at building economic resilience and sustainable livelihoods across Uganda. This is a senior-level opportunity for a development professional passionate about creating lasting impact in Uganda's communities.

As the Economic Recovery and Development Coordinator, you will provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for IRC's economic empowerment initiatives. You will work closely with local government, private sector partners, and community organisations to design and implement programmes that support refugees and host communities in achieving economic self-reliance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement the Economic Recovery and Development (ERD) strategy for IRC Uganda
• Provide technical leadership on livelihoods, cash programming, and enterprise development
• Manage programme budgets and ensure compliance with donor requirements
• Build capacity of ERD staff and local partners through training and mentorship
• Lead programme design, proposal development, and reporting for economic recovery projects
• Establish and maintain partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector actors
• Monitor programme quality and ensure alignment with Uganda's development priorities
• Represent IRC in relevant coordination forums and working groups

Requirements:
• Master's degree in Economics, Development Studies, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in economic recovery, livelihoods, or enterprise development programmes
• Proven experience working in Uganda or similar East African context
• Strong understanding of Uganda's economic landscape and refugee response framework
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Fluency in English required; knowledge of local languages is an advantage
