Education Program Support Specialist Job at Compassion International - Kampala

Compassion International Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Education Program Support Specialist to join our team in Kampala. This is a rewarding opportunity for a professional passionate about holistic child development and education to provide expert support for our life-changing programmes across the country.

About the Role

As a Program Support Specialist for Education, you will play a critical role in strengthening our education-related initiatives. You will provide subject-matter expertise, support programme design and monitoring, and build the capacity of our church partners and staff to deliver high-quality educational outcomes for children in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and monitor specialised education initiatives and programmes.
• Provide coaching, training, and capacity building to partnership facilitators, church partners, and other staff.
• Analyse national and local data to identify programme gaps and inform strategic planning.
• Contextualise and adapt educational curriculum and resources for child and youth development.
• Ensure programme compliance and support the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework.
• Represent Compassion in relevant networks, consortia, and with government and NGO stakeholders.
• Act as an advocate for children's needs and support child safeguarding protocols.
• Uphold Compassion's Christian mission and values in all interactions.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in education programming within the NGO or development sector in Uganda.
• Proven experience in programme design, monitoring, and evaluation (M&E).
• Strong background in training, capacity building, and mentoring others.
• Excellent experience in stakeholder engagement, networking, and collaboration.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A personal commitment to the mission and Christian values of Compassion International.
