Job Description
UNICEF Uganda is hiring a dedicated WASH Officer specialising in Environment and Climate Action to join our dynamic team in Kampala. This is your opportunity to create meaningful impact by ensuring children grow up in cleaner, safer, and more resilient environments across Uganda.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support implementation of WASH Environment and Climate Action Programme
• Collaborate with government agencies, private sector, and civil society organisations
• Develop and promote child-centred environmental policies and climate actions
• Strengthen national capacity for disaster risk reduction and climate resilience
• Drive innovative solutions for environmental sustainability and climate adaptation
• Work directly with youth groups and communities on climate action initiatives
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Water Resources, Climate Studies or related field
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in WASH, environment or climate programming
• Strong understanding of Uganda's environmental and climate challenges
• Experience working with government and development partners in Uganda
• Excellent communication and partnership-building skills
