Technical Officer - Capacity Building and Sustainability Reporting Jobs in Kampala, Uganda

The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED) is seeking qualified and experienced Technical Officers to join its team in Kampala. This is a critical role focused on enhancing institutional capacity and driving robust sustainability reporting frameworks within Uganda's public finance management system.

As a Technical Officer for Capacity Building and Sustainability Reporting, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and monitoring programmes that build the skills and knowledge of government staff. You will also be responsible for developing and managing systems for comprehensive sustainability and impact reporting, ensuring alignment with national development goals and international standards.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Design, develop, and deliver targeted capacity building programmes and training materials for ministry staff and stakeholders.
• Conduct training needs assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of capacity building initiatives.
• Develop and implement frameworks for monitoring, evaluation, and sustainability reporting of key projects and programmes.
• Prepare high-quality periodic reports on project sustainability, outcomes, and impact for both internal and external stakeholders, including development partners.
• Provide technical guidance and support to various departments on integrating sustainability and reporting requirements into their planning cycles.
• Collaborate with other government agencies and development partners to harmonise reporting standards and share best practices.
• Maintain accurate records and databases related to capacity building activities and sustainability metrics.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
• Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in capacity building, training, monitoring & evaluation, or sustainability reporting, preferably within the public sector or with development organisations in Uganda.
• Strong understanding of public financial management and national development planning processes in Uganda.
• Excellent report writing, data analysis, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
