About the Role

As a Software Engineer at Tech Solutions Uganda, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications that serve our diverse client base across Uganda and beyond. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust software applications using Java and Python
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues to ensure optimal performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members including designers, product managers, and other engineers
• Work with databases and APIs to integrate various system components
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to Uganda's tech landscape

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field from a recognised institution
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in software development
• Strong proficiency in Java and/or Python programming languages
• Solid knowledge of database management systems and API integration
• Experience with software testing and debugging methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Previous experience in the Ugandan or East African tech market is an advantage
