Senior Data Analyst Position at Watu Credit
Watu Credit, a leading asset financing company in East Africa, is seeking an experienced and analytical Senior Data Analyst to join our dynamic team in Nairobi, Kenya. Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualisations to track business performance and key metrics.
- Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business strategy and operational improvements.
- Design and implement data collection systems and optimise data quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, finance) to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
- Build predictive models and conduct statistical analysis to support risk assessment, customer segmentation, and business forecasting.
- Translate complex data findings into clear, compelling stories and recommendations for senior management.
- Mentor junior data analysts and promote a data-driven culture within the organisation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in the fintech, financial services, or asset financing sector.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Strong experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Proficiency in a statistical programming language (Python or R).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP) is a plus.
