Diageo, a global leader in beverage alcohol, is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager for Corporate Relations to join its team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior leadership role where you will shape and protect the reputation of one of the world's most admired companies within the Ugandan market.

About the Role

As the Senior Manager for Corporate Relations, you will be the primary architect of Diageo's communication strategy in Uganda. You will lead all aspects of corporate communications, public affairs, media relations, and sustainability communications, ensuring alignment with both local business objectives and Diageo's global standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Develop and execute comprehensive strategic communication and public affairs plans for Uganda.
• Lead media relations, building and maintaining strong relationships with key Ugandan journalists and media houses.
• Manage both internal and external communications to consistently enhance Diageo's corporate reputation.
• Oversee crisis communications and issues management with a proactive approach.
• Drive stakeholder engagement strategy with government, industry bodies, communities, and other key partners.
• Lead communications for Diageo's sustainability and social responsibility initiatives in Uganda, such as our Society 2030 goals.
• Support business growth by crafting compelling narratives that highlight Diageo's positive impact and market leadership.
• Manage the corporate relations budget and team outputs effectively.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public affairs, or media relations.
• Proven track record of successful media relations and stakeholder management within the Ugandan context.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), beverage, or a similar regulated industry is a strong advantage.
• Strategic thinker with excellent crisis management capabilities.
