Kakira Sugar Limited (KSL), one of Uganda's premier sugar manufacturers and a cornerstone of the local economy, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team. This is a vital role for a professional passionate about creating safe, healthy, and environmentally sound workplaces across our factories and plantation sites in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

As our Safety Supervisor, you will be at the heart of our operational excellence, ensuring the highest standards of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE). Your core duties will include:

• Coordinating and managing the complete end-to-end SHE system implementation across all assigned departments and sites.
• Leading all internal and external SHE audits and driving corrective actions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
• Regularly updating the SHE system to incorporate new legal requirements and other standards applicable to KSL's operations in Uganda.
• Working closely with Heads of Department and Section Heads to conduct thorough hazard identification, risk assessments, and environmental impact assessments.
• Following up on the implementation of appropriate control measures to mitigate identified risks.
• Leading incident and accident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and effective follow-up on corrective actions.
• Developing and disseminating one-point lessons learned from incidents to prevent recurrence.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

• Proven experience in a safety, health, and environment role within a manufacturing, agricultural, or industrial setting in Uganda.
• Strong knowledge of Ugandan SHE legislation and international best practices.
• Excellent skills in audit management, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
• Ability to liaise effectively with management and operational staff at all levels.
• Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Relevant professional certification in Occupational Health & Safety is a strong advantage.
