Regional Manager (Northern & North Eastern Uganda) - Watu Credit Uganda

Watu Credit Uganda, a leading asset financing company, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Regional Manager to oversee operations in the Northern and North Eastern regions of Uganda. This is a senior leadership role perfect for an experienced professional passionate about financial inclusion and managing high-performing teams in Uganda's vibrant boda boda and asset financing sector.

About Watu Credit Uganda:
Watu is a fast-growing company dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs across Uganda by providing accessible financing for income-generating assets, primarily motorcycles (boda bodas). We are committed to driving financial inclusion and supporting the growth of small businesses nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve sales, portfolio growth, and profitability targets for the Northern and North Eastern regions.
* Lead, mentor, and manage a regional team of Area Managers, Sales Agents, and Operations staff.
* Oversee the entire customer lifecycle, from loan origination and disbursement to collections and recovery, ensuring portfolio quality.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, community leaders, and dealer networks.
* Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities and ensure Watu's competitive edge.
* Ensure strict compliance with company policies, procedures, and Ugandan regulatory requirements.
* Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.

Requirements & Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
* Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a senior management role, preferably within microfinance, banking, fintech, or sales/distribution in Uganda.
* Strong experience in credit management, sales strategy, and team leadership.
* In-depth knowledge of the Northern and North Eastern Uganda business landscape.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and experience with CRM software.
* Must be willing to travel extensively within the region.
