Project Assistant Job at Ministry of Works and Transport - Bukasa Port Project, Uganda
Job Description
The Ministry of Works and Transport is seeking a dedicated Project Assistant to join the Bukasa Port Project team. This is a key government position offering the opportunity to contribute to one of Uganda's most important infrastructure developments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting project coordination and implementation for this strategic national project.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Provide administrative and logistical support for the Bukasa Port Project operations
β’ Assist in project documentation, filing, and record-keeping systems
β’ Support project meetings by preparing agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions
β’ Coordinate communication between project stakeholders and team members
β’ Help monitor project timelines and deliverables
β’ Assist in procurement processes and vendor coordination
β’ Support data collection and reporting activities
β’ Help organise project events, workshops, and site visits
Requirements:
β’ Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or related field
β’ Minimum 2 years of experience in project support or administrative roles
β’ Strong organisational and time management skills
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
β’ Knowledge of project management principles and tools
β’ Ability to work effectively in a team environment
β’ Understanding of government procurement processes is an advantage
