Project Assistant Job at Ministry of Works and Transport - Bukasa Port Project, Uganda

The Ministry of Works and Transport is seeking a dedicated Project Assistant to join the Bukasa Port Project team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting project coordination and implementation for this strategic national project.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative and logistical support for the Bukasa Port Project operations
• Assist in project documentation, filing, and record-keeping systems
• Support project meetings by preparing agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions
• Coordinate communication between project stakeholders and team members
• Help monitor project timelines and deliverables
• Assist in procurement processes and vendor coordination
• Support data collection and reporting activities
• Help organise project events, workshops, and site visits

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in project support or administrative roles
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of project management principles and tools
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Understanding of government procurement processes is an advantage
