Program Manager I β Church Lands and Private Sector Engagement at CRS Uganda
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Manager I to lead our innovative Church Lands and Private Sector Engagement programme. This is a senior-level opportunity for a professional passionate about sustainable development, land rights, and fostering partnerships between faith-based institutions and the private sector in Uganda.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and overall management for the Church Lands and Private Sector Engagement programme.
- Develop and strengthen partnerships with dioceses, parishes, private companies, and local government in Uganda.
- Design and implement strategies for the productive and sustainable use of church-owned land for community benefit.
- Facilitate private sector engagement models that create shared value and support local economic development.
- Oversee programme budgeting, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting to ensure accountability and impact.
- Lead and mentor a team of programme staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Represent CRS in relevant forums and networks within Uganda's development and private sectors.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Masterβs degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in programme management, preferably in agriculture, livelihoods, or private sector development within Uganda or East Africa.
- Proven experience in partnership building, especially with faith-based institutions and/or the private sector.
- Strong understanding of land tenure systems, agricultural value chains, and market-based approaches in the Ugandan context.
- Excellent project management, financial management, and donor reporting skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
