Exciting Procurement Manager Opportunity at CRS Uganda
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Uganda is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team in Kampala. This is a senior-level position critical to our mission of serving vulnerable communities across Uganda. Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive procurement strategies and policies for CRS Uganda operations.
- Lead the entire procurement cycle, from planning and sourcing to contracting and supplier relationship management.
- Ensure full compliance with CRS, donor (e.g., USAID, UN), and Ugandan public procurement regulations.
- Manage and mentor a team of procurement staff, building capacity and ensuring high performance.
- Oversee major tenders and negotiations to achieve value for money and ethical sourcing.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare timely reports for management and donors.
- Collaborate with programme teams to understand needs and ensure efficient supply chain support for project implementation.
- Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks within the country programme.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS) is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, preferably within an INGO or large organisation in Uganda.
- In-depth knowledge of Ugandan procurement laws and major donor (USAID, ECHO, etc.) regulations.
- Proven experience managing high-value and complex procurement processes.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- High integrity and commitment to ethical standards and transparency.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
