Job Summary

As a Dispenser at C-Care Uganda, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy operations. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare, document, and dispense medications and medical supplies accurately to both hospital units and direct clients. You will serve as a key point of contact for patients, requiring a compassionate approach to ensure they understand their treatment regimens.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Accurately prepare and dispense prescribed drugs and medical supplies to patients and hospital departments.
• Maintain precise documentation and records of all dispensed medications in accordance with Ugandan pharmaceutical regulations.
• Provide clear, empathetic, and professional counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects to improve treatment adherence.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including stock-taking, ordering, and ensuring proper storage conditions.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, hygiene, and patient confidentiality.
• Handle customer inquiries and provide excellent service at the pharmacy counter.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Certificate or Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution in Uganda.
• Registration with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda is mandatory.
• Proven experience working as a dispenser or pharmacy technician in a hospital or clinic setting is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Luganda.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organisational skills.
• High level of integrity, empathy, and a genuine passion for patient care.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
