Night Shift Construction Superintendent Job in Uganda - TotalEnergies EP Uganda

TotalEnergies EP Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Superintendent for the Night Shift to join our dynamic team in Uganda. This is a regular, full-time position offering a unique opportunity to contribute to major energy infrastructure projects in the country.

About the Role:
As a Night Shift Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all construction activities during night operations. You will ensure that projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This critical role requires strong leadership and a proactive approach to night-time construction management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate all night shift construction activities on-site.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and Ugandan regulations.
• Monitor project progress, quality of work, and compliance with engineering designs and specifications.
• Lead and manage night shift contractors, subcontractors, and labour teams.
• Conduct nightly safety briefings and inspections to maintain a zero-incident work environment.
• Report daily progress, issues, and resource requirements to the day shift management team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and logistical challenges that arise during night operations.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with TotalEnergies' global standards and best practices.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of proven experience in construction supervision, with significant experience in night shift operations, preferably in the oil, gas, or large-scale infrastructure sector in East Africa.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and Ugandan building codes.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is a strong advantage.
• Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions under pressure during night hours.
