Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist Job in Gulu, Uganda - World Vision
Job Description
World Vision International is seeking a highly qualified Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist to join our team in Gulu, Northern Uganda. This is a senior-level opportunity to lead M&E activities for transformative development projects that impact communities across the region.
In this critical role, you will ensure the quality, accountability, and learning of our programmes. You will be responsible for designing robust M&E systems, analysing data to inform decisions, and reporting to key stakeholders, including major donors. This position is ideal for a dedicated professional passionate about using data to drive sustainable development in Uganda.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks for projects in Northern Uganda.
- Ensure high-quality data collection, management, and analysis to track project performance and impact.
- Design and conduct surveys, assessments, and evaluations using rigorous methodologies.
- Analyse quantitative and qualitative data using advanced statistical software (SPSS, STATA).
- Prepare and submit timely, accurate reports for donors, including USAID and the European Union (EU).
- Provide technical support and capacity building to project teams on M&E tools and processes.
- Foster a culture of learning by documenting best practices and lessons learned to improve programme quality.
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, specifically within the NGO sector in Uganda.
- High proficiency in statistical software packages, including SPSS and STATA.
- Demonstrated experience with donor reporting requirements, particularly for USAID and EU-funded projects.
- Strong analytical, report-writing, and communication skills.
- Experience working in Northern Uganda or similar post-conflict recovery contexts is a strong advantage.
