Job Description

Field Coordinator Position - Northern Region (Gulu)

UN Women Uganda is seeking an experienced and dedicated Field Coordinator to oversee and implement our gender equality and women's empowerment programmes in the Northern Region. This is a critical role based in Gulu that will drive our mission to support women and girls across Acholi and Lango sub-regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise the implementation of UN Women programmes across Gulu and surrounding districts in Northern Uganda
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with local government authorities, community leaders, and partner organisations
  • Monitor field activities regularly and provide technical support to implementing partners
  • Prepare comprehensive field reports, documentation, and progress updates
  • Represent UN Women at regional meetings, workshops, and coordination forums
  • Ensure programme activities align with UN Women's strategic objectives and Uganda's development priorities

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Gender Studies, or related field from a recognised university
  • Minimum 4 years of proven field experience working in Northern Uganda
  • Strong knowledge and experience in gender equality and women's rights programming
  • Fluency in local languages (Acholi and/or Lango) is highly preferred
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and reporting skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the Northern Region
  • Valid motorcycle riding permit would be an advantage
