Medical Coordinator Job in Adjumani - Refugee Health Programme

Medical Teams International is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Coordinator to lead and provide technical oversight for our vital refugee health programme in Adjumani, West Nile, Uganda. This is a senior-level opportunity for a qualified medical doctor to make a significant impact in a humanitarian setting, ensuring the delivery of quality primary healthcare and emergency response services.

As the Medical Coordinator, you will be at the forefront of our health interventions, working closely with local health facilities and partners to strengthen the health system for refugee and host communities. This role is ideal for a clinical leader passionate about mentorship, training, and improving health outcomes in remote locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical supervision and oversight for all medical activities within the Adjumani programme.
• Ensure strict adherence to national and international clinical protocols and treatment guidelines.
• Lead the training, coaching, and capacity building of medical staff to enhance service delivery.
• Coordinate effectively with government health facilities and other humanitarian partners.
• Monitor disease surveillance systems and lead outbreak response activities.
• Support emergency preparedness and response planning for the programme.
• Contribute to programme reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Must be a qualified Medical Doctor with a valid annual practicing license from the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on clinical experience, preferably in humanitarian or refugee settings.
• Proven experience in managing primary health care programmes and emergency medical response.
• Strong skills in training, supervision, and mentorship of health staff.
• Excellent coordination and communication abilities.
• Resilience and a demonstrated ability to live and work effectively in remote and resource-limited areas.
