Mechanical Technician Job Opportunity at Yalelo Uganda
Yalelo Uganda, a leading aquaculture and fish farming enterprise, is seeking two (2) skilled and dedicated Mechanical Technicians to join our dynamic engineering team at our Butembe-Buikwe facility. This is an excellent full-time opportunity for technical professionals looking to advance their careers in a growing industry within Uganda.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on all mechanical equipment and systems at the aquaculture facility.
- Diagnose mechanical faults, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
- Conduct preventive maintenance schedules on pumps, aerators, generators, water treatment systems, and other production machinery.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, spare parts usage, and equipment performance.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety standards and Ugandan regulations.
- Collaborate with the wider engineering and production teams to optimise operational efficiency.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field from a recognised Ugandan institution.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven hands-on experience as a Mechanical Technician, preferably in a manufacturing, production, or processing plant.
- Strong practical knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and diesel/petrol engines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Valid riding permit (Class A) is a strong advantage.
