Electrical Technician Job at Yalelo Uganda in Butembe-Buikwe

Yalelo Uganda, a leading aquaculture enterprise, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Technician to join our engineering team in Butembe-Buikwe. This is a fantastic full-time opportunity for a qualified technician to apply their expertise in maintaining and improving the electrical systems critical to our sustainable fish farming operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of all electrical equipment, from power distribution to specialised aquaculture systems. You will work hands-on to support our mission of providing high-quality, affordable fish to the Ugandan market.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial electrical systems and equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on generators, motors, control panels, and wiring.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Ensure all work complies with Ugandan electrical safety standards and regulations.
• Diagnose electrical faults efficiently and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Collaborate with the broader engineering and production teams to support continuous operations.

Requirements & Qualifications:
• A Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Power Electrical, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or aquaculture setting.
• Strong practical knowledge of AC/DC systems, motor controls, and power distribution.
• Valid practicing license from the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Uganda is a strong advantage.
• Commitment to safety protocols and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
