Nation Media Group, Uganda's leading media house, is seeking a skilled and dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic team in Entebbe. This is an excellent opportunity for a technical professional to provide essential support for our hardware, software, and network infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations for one of the region's most respected media organisations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide first-line and second-line technical support for all hardware, software, and network issues across the organisation.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve IT problems reported by staff in a timely and efficient manner.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, applications, and network devices.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Monitor system performance and ensure network security and data integrity.
- Document technical issues, solutions, and procedures for the knowledge base.
- Train end-users on basic software and hardware functionality.
- Collaborate with the IT team on larger projects and system upgrades.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in an IT support role within Uganda.
- Strong practical knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Good understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for user support.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
