Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day financial transactions and accounting processes
• Prepare accurate financial reports and statements in compliance with organisational policies
• Ensure adherence to Ugandan financial regulations and donor reporting requirements
• Support program teams with budgeting, financial planning, and expenditure monitoring
• Maintain proper financial documentation and records
• Assist with internal and external audit processes
• Contribute to financial risk management and control systems

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field from a recognised Ugandan or international university
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA) is a significant advantage
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance, preferably within the NGO sector in Uganda
• Strong knowledge of Ugandan financial regulations and tax laws
• Experience with donor financial reporting (USAID, EU, UN agencies, etc.)
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SunSystems, or similar) and advanced MS Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
• High level of integrity and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is beneficial
