Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports for headquarters and local stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor the national finance team, providing capacity building and support.
  • Implement and strengthen internal financial controls and risk management systems.
  • Liaise with auditors and ensure successful completion of annual and project-specific audits.
  • Manage relationships with local banks and financial institutions.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA) is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably within the NGO or humanitarian sector in Uganda.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ugandan tax laws, financial regulations, and NGO reporting standards.
  • Proven experience managing large donor-funded budgets (e.g., USAID, ECHO, FCDO, UN).
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing a diverse team.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of War Child Canada.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive NGO salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.
  • A meaningful career with a leading international humanitarian organisation.
  • Comprehensive health insurance and other benefits as per organisational policy.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • A dynamic and supportive work environment committed to child safeguarding.

How to Apply:
Interested candidates should submit their application via the official ReliefWeb portal by the closing date: 5th December 2025. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
