Old Mutual, a leading financial services group in Africa, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior role where you will be instrumental in driving our growth strategy and expanding our market presence across the country.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve aggressive growth targets for Old Mutual Uganda.
• Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities and market segments within the Ugandan financial services landscape.
• Build, nurture, and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, corporate partners, and stakeholders.
• Lead negotiations and close high-value deals to expand the company's portfolio of products and services.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and product development to ensure alignment and successful execution of growth initiatives.
• Prepare and present detailed business proposals, reports, and forecasts to senior management.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field from a recognised university.
• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or a strategic role within the financial services, insurance, or a related sector in Uganda.
• Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required.
