Associate Field Officer Job at UNHCR Uganda in Kampala

UNHCR Uganda is seeking a dedicated Associate Field Officer to join our team in Kampala. This is an excellent opportunity for a humanitarian professional to contribute to our mission of protecting refugees, forcibly displaced communities, and stateless people in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support field operations under the supervision of the Senior Field Coordinator, Field Officer, or Head of Sub-Office.
• Implement activities guided by UNHCR's Manual, programme and protection objectives, and Operations Plans.
• Maintain daily coordination with staff in various field offices and functional units at the Country/Regional Office.
• Foster close liaison with local civilian and military authorities, as well as counterparts in NGOs and UN agencies.
• Assist in discussing and resolving matters of common interest with partners to enhance service delivery.
• Adhere to UN and UNHCR financial and budgetary rules and regulations in all activities.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Law, International Relations, or a related field.
• Previous experience in humanitarian work, field operations, or with an NGO/UN agency is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Strong understanding of protection principles and the humanitarian context in Uganda.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and adapt to challenging environments.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages (e.g., Luganda, Swahili) is an asset.
