Uganda Technology And Management University (UTAMU) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated University Nurse to join our Kungu Campus healthcare team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified nursing professional to provide essential medical services to our university community in Wakiso District.
Position Summary:
As a University Nurse at UTAMU, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality healthcare services to students, staff, and faculty members. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and wellbeing of our university community while working in a dynamic educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide primary healthcare services and first aid treatment
• Conduct health assessments and medical screenings
• Manage the university health centre and maintain medical records
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Develop and implement health education programmes
• Coordinate emergency response and referral services
• Maintain medical supplies and equipment inventory
• Collaborate with university staff on health-related matters
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Diploma in Nursing from recognised institution
• Valid registration with Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Strong clinical and patient care skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Knowledge of Ugandan healthcare protocols
