Job Description

The Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, is seeking qualified professionals to support the tourism sector's recovery through the Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project-AF. This initiative is funded by the World Bank to revitalise Uganda's tourism industry following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Key Responsibilities:
• Implement COVID recovery grant programmes for tourism enterprises
• Support tourism sector businesses in accessing financial assistance
• Monitor and evaluate project implementation across Uganda's tourism destinations
• Coordinate with local tourism stakeholders and community enterprises
• Ensure compliance with World Bank funding requirements
• Develop recovery strategies for wildlife and cultural heritage tourism

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management, Business Administration, Economics or related field
• Minimum 3 years experience in project management or tourism development
• Knowledge of Uganda's tourism sector and wildlife conservation
• Experience with donor-funded projects (World Bank experience advantageous)
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Understanding of COVID-19 impact on Uganda's tourism industry
