Tourism Advisor Job in Kampala - Urban Resilience Hub

The Urban Resilience Hub by UN-Habitat's City Resilience Global Programme (CRGP) is seeking an experienced Tourism Advisor to join our team in Kampala. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable tourism development in Uganda while working with an internationally recognised organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement sustainable tourism strategies for urban resilience
• Provide technical advisory services to local government and tourism stakeholders
• Conduct research and analysis on tourism trends in Uganda and East Africa
• Facilitate capacity building programmes for local tourism operators
• Coordinate with UN-Habitat partners and government agencies
• Monitor and evaluate tourism development projects
• Promote community-based tourism initiatives in urban areas

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality, Urban Planning or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in tourism development or advisory roles
• Strong understanding of Uganda's tourism sector and policies
• Experience working with international organisations or development agencies
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Knowledge of sustainable tourism practices and urban resilience concepts
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage
