Job Description

The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED) is seeking qualified and dedicated Ugandan professionals for the position of Technical Officer - Capacity Building and Sustainability Reporting. This is a critical role within a key government ministry, offering the opportunity to contribute to national development goals and build sustainable systems for Uganda's future.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring capacity-building initiatives while ensuring robust sustainability reporting frameworks. This position is ideal for a professional passionate about institutional development, data-driven reporting, and contributing to the economic planning of Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive capacity-building strategies and training programmes for ministry staff and stakeholders.
  • Design frameworks and tools for monitoring and evaluating the sustainability of projects and programmes.
  • Prepare high-quality periodic sustainability reports in line with national and international reporting standards.
  • Conduct training needs assessments and organise relevant workshops, seminars, and mentorship sessions.
  • Collaborate with various government departments and development partners to align capacity-building efforts with national objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of all capacity-building activities and their outcomes.
  • Provide technical support on sustainability and reporting requirements to project teams.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in capacity building, training, monitoring & evaluation, or sustainability reporting, preferably within the public sector or with development organisations in Uganda.
  • Strong understanding of Uganda's national development planning framework (e.g., NDP IV).
  • Excellent report writing, data analysis, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data analysis software.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to public service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
