Technical Officer - Capacity Building and Sustainability Reporting Jobs in Kampala, Uganda
Job Description
The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED) is seeking qualified and experienced Technical Officers to join our team in Kampala. This is a critical role focused on enhancing institutional capacity and driving sustainability reporting initiatives within Uganda's public finance management framework.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive capacity building programmes for ministry staff and stakeholders.
- Lead the design and execution of training modules on sustainability reporting, public financial management, and economic planning.
- Prepare detailed sustainability reports in line with national and international frameworks and standards.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on integrating sustainability and climate finance into national planning and budgeting processes.
- Collaborate with government agencies, development partners, and civil society to strengthen reporting systems and data collection mechanisms.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform policy development and improve reporting methodologies.
- Support the ministry in meeting its commitments under national development plans and global sustainability goals.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a strong advantage.
- At least 3-5 years of proven experience in capacity building, training, sustainability reporting, or a related field, preferably within the Ugandan public sector or with development organisations.
- Strong understanding of Uganda's public financial management system, the National Development Plan (NDP), and global sustainability frameworks (e.g., SDGs).
- Excellent report writing, data analysis, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis software.
- Outstanding communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to public service.
