Technical Officer - Capacity Building and Sustainability Reporting Jobs in Kampala, Uganda

The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED) is seeking qualified and experienced Technical Officers to join a critical project focused on Capacity Building and Sustainability Reporting. This is a unique opportunity for Ugandan professionals to contribute to national development goals by strengthening institutional frameworks and reporting mechanisms within the public sector.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Develop and implement comprehensive capacity-building programmes for government staff on sustainability and performance reporting standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to various departments on integrating sustainability metrics into their planning and reporting cycles.
• Design training materials, manuals, and tools to enhance institutional knowledge and compliance with national and international reporting requirements.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of capacity-building initiatives and prepare detailed progress reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other technical officers and government agencies to ensure alignment of sustainability reporting with Uganda's national development plan.
• Facilitate workshops, seminars, and mentorship sessions to build a sustainable skills base within the ministry and partner institutions.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
• At least 3-5 years of proven experience in capacity building, training, project management, or sustainability reporting within the Ugandan context.
• Strong understanding of public sector financial management, planning, and reporting systems in Uganda.
• Excellent skills in data analysis, report writing, and presentation.
• Proficiency in relevant computer applications and software for data management and reporting.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to work effectively in a team and with diverse stakeholders.
