Job Description
The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development Uganda is seeking a qualified Sustainable Public Procurement Specialist to join our team in Kampala. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Uganda's sustainable development goals through innovative procurement practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sustainable public procurement policies and frameworks
- Provide technical guidance on green procurement practices across government ministries
- Conduct capacity building and training programmes for procurement officers
- Monitor and evaluate sustainable procurement implementation across public entities
- Ensure compliance with national environmental standards and international best practices
- Prepare reports on sustainable procurement performance and impact
- Collaborate with stakeholders to promote sustainable supply chains
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Economics, Business Administration or related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in public procurement in Uganda
- Professional certification in procurement (CIPS or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of Uganda's Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act
- Experience in sustainable/green procurement practices
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills
- Knowledge of Uganda's environmental policies and sustainable development goals
