Senior Manager, Program Support Job at Compassion International

Compassion International Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Manager for Program Support to join our team in Kampala. This is a senior leadership role where you will lead a team of specialists to empower local church partners across Uganda, ensuring they deliver effective, holistic child development programmes.

In this role, you will be at the heart of our mission to release children from poverty in Jesus' name. You will work directly with frontline church partners, building their capacity to serve as accountable and transparent channels of Christ's love to children and families in their communities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Program Support Specialists across Uganda.


• Partner with local church partners to ensure effective implementation of Compassion's holistic child development model.


• Provide expert coaching, consultation, and training to church partners on all programmatic aspects, including child development, monitoring, and reporting.


• Build the capacity of church partners to implement, monitor, and report on programme interventions while maintaining full compliance with partnership standards.


• Ensure church partner programmes align with Compassion's core ministry outcomes and global standards.


• Collaborate with other country office teams (e.g., Finance, Sponsorship) to provide integrated, seamless support to church partners.


• Foster strong, sustainable relationships with church leadership to enhance programme impact and sustainability.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.


• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in programme management, partnership development, or community development within the NGO sector in Uganda.


• Proven experience in a senior management or leadership role, with a strong track record of leading and developing teams.


• Deep understanding of child development frameworks, church partnerships, and community-based programming in the Ugandan context.


• Excellent training, facilitation, and capacity-building skills.


• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
