Senior Finance Manager Job Opportunity at Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Uganda
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Uganda is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Manager, Finance to join our Senior Management Team in Kampala. This is a leadership role responsible for providing strategic direction and management of all finance and operations support functions for our country programme. You will play a critical role in ensuring effective financial management and high-quality programming that serves communities across Uganda.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide strategic leadership for all finance, administration, procurement, ICT, fleet, and property management functions.
- Lead the development and management of annual budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and donor requirements (including USAID, EU, UN).
- Ensure full compliance with Ugandan statutory laws, tax authorities, donor regulations, and CRS global policies.
- Champion financial risk management, internal controls, and safeguard organisational assets.
- Oversee timely preparation of financial statements, audits, and reports for stakeholders and donors.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and operations teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Manage key relationships with government agencies, donors, partners, auditors, and vendors in Uganda.
- Ensure efficient procurement processes that deliver value for money and transparency.
- Oversee the maintenance and security of ICT systems, vehicles, and programme assets.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration OR a full professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACCA).
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior finance management role, preferably with an International NGO in Uganda or the region.
- Proven knowledge of multiple public donor regulations (USAID, EU, UN) is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office and experience with financial reporting software like Oracle.
- Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound judgements.
- Outstanding relationship management and team leadership abilities.
- Must be fluent in English and willing to travel within Uganda up to 25% of the time.
