The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Field Coordinator to lead its operations in Adjumani, Uganda. This is a senior-level position offering a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of refugees and host communities in one of Uganda's key refugee-hosting districts. Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide overall leadership and coordination for UNHCR’s field operations and protection activities in Adjumani District.
• Represent UNHCR in coordination meetings with Government of Uganda authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and other key stakeholders.
• Supervise field staff and ensure all operations comply with UNHCR’s global policies, procedures, and standards.
• Oversee the effective delivery of humanitarian assistance and protection services to refugees and the local host community.
• Play a key role in resource mobilisation, programme monitoring and evaluation, and donor reporting.
• Strengthen partnerships and promote community-based protection approaches to ensure sustainable solutions.
• Ensure the office operates efficiently and reports directly to the Head of Sub-Office or designated supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in International Relations, Social Sciences, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian work, refugee operations, or field coordination, preferably with the UN or an international NGO.
• Proven experience in leadership, staff supervision, and multi-stakeholder coordination in a complex humanitarian context.
• In-depth knowledge of international refugee law and protection principles.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and representation skills.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and project management abilities.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another UN language or a local language spoken in Adjumani is an asset.
