About the Role:
As a Community Engagement Specialist, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and monitoring community-based health programmes. • Develop and manage community activity plans, ensuring alignment with project goals and donor requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate community interventions, collecting data and reporting on impact and outcomes.
  • Facilitate community dialogues and feedback mechanisms to ensure programme accountability and responsiveness.
  • Prepare timely and accurate activity reports for project management.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in community engagement, mobilisation, or social behaviour change, preferably within the public health sector in Uganda.
  • Strong understanding of the local context in Western Uganda, particularly the Mbarara region.
  • Fluency in English and at least one major local language spoken in the region (e.g., Runyankole).
  • Excellent training, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of community programmes.
