Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Job in Kampala - Compassion International

Compassion International Uganda is seeking a dedicated and analytical Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our team in Kampala. This is a vital role for a professional passionate about using data to drive impact and improve the lives of children in Uganda. You will design and implement robust M&E systems to track the performance and outcomes of our life-changing programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks for assigned programmes.
• Lead data collection, analysis, and interpretation using tools like SPSS, Excel, and other relevant software.
• Prepare high-quality, evidence-based reports for management, donors, and stakeholders to inform decision-making.
• Ensure the highest standards of data quality, integrity, and security throughout the M&E process.
• Build capacity by training programme staff on M&E methodologies, tools, and data utilisation.
• Provide strategic recommendations for programme improvement based on M&E findings.
• Support the development of indicators, data collection tools, and baseline/endline surveys.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within the NGO sector in Uganda.
• Strong technical proficiency in data analysis software (SPSS, STATA, Excel) and data visualisation.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Experience in child-focused or community development programmes is a significant advantage.
• Understanding of Uganda's development context and M&E best practices.
