Senior Assessment Officer Job in Kampala - IMPACT Initiatives Uganda
Job Description
IMPACT Initiatives is seeking an experienced Senior Assessment Officer to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior-level position for a humanitarian professional passionate about data-driven decision-making and improving humanitarian response in Uganda.

Our work in Uganda focuses on providing essential information to partners and stakeholders to support vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Lead the design and implementation of humanitarian needs assessments and research cycles in Uganda.
- Manage assessment teams, ensuring data quality, ethical standards, and timely delivery of information products.
- Analyse complex data sets to produce clear, actionable reports, dashboards, and maps for humanitarian actors.
- Coordinate closely with UN agencies, NGOs, and government counterparts to ensure assessment relevance and uptake.
- Contribute to strategic planning, proposal development, and donor reporting for IMPACT's Uganda mission.
- Mentor and build the capacity of national assessment staff.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Master's degree in International Development, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in humanitarian assessment, monitoring & evaluation (M&E), or research, preferably within the East African or Ugandan context.
- Proven expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and data analysis software (e.g., KoBo, SPSS, R).
- Strong project management skills and experience leading teams.
- Excellent report-writing and communication skills in English.
- Deep understanding of the humanitarian coordination system and the Uganda response context.
