Job Summary

As a Dispenser at C-Care IMC Wandegeya, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispensing of medications and medical supplies to both hospital units and outpatients. You will be a key point of contact for patients, providing essential counselling to improve their understanding and adherence to treatment plans.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense prescribed drugs and medical supplies to patients and hospital departments.


• Maintain meticulous records of all dispensed items in accordance with pharmacy regulations.


• Provide clear, empathetic, and professional counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.


• Participate in drug inventory management, including stock-taking and ordering to prevent shortages.


• Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.


• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimise patient care.


• Handle patient queries with professionalism and maintain strict confidentiality.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a recognised institution in Uganda.


• Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.


• Proven experience working as a dispenser or pharmacy technician in a hospital or clinic setting is a strong advantage.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centred approach.


• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.


• Good knowledge of common medications, their uses, and side effects.


• Integrity and a high sense of professionalism.
