Pharmacy Dispenser Job in Gulu - C-Care Uganda

Job Summary
As a Dispenser at C-Care Uganda, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy operations. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispensing of medications and medical supplies to both hospital units and outpatients. Your professional approach and excellent communication skills will ensure patients receive proper counselling, leading to improved treatment adherence and health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently to patients and hospital departments
• Maintain proper documentation of all dispensed drugs and supplies in accordance with regulatory standards
• Provide clear and empathetic counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including stock monitoring, ordering, and proper storage of pharmaceuticals
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
• Adhere to all safety protocols and ethical guidelines in pharmaceutical practice
• Participate in maintaining a clean, organised, and professional pharmacy environment

Requirements & Qualifications
• Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a recognised institution
• Valid practising licence from the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar dispensing role (hospital experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, dosage calculations, and drug interactions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational abilities
• Computer literacy for documentation and inventory management
