About the Role

As a General Service Assistant, you will play a vital support role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of our hospital facility. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to a clean, safe, and functional environment for our patients, their families, and our dedicated medical staff. Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Perform general cleaning and sanitation of assigned hospital areas, including wards, offices, and common spaces, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.
• Assist with basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs under supervision.
• Support the movement and safe handling of hospital supplies, equipment, and furniture as directed.
• Help in waste management and disposal according to hospital and Ugandan environmental guidelines.
• Provide logistical support for hospital events and departmental activities.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages.
• Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and infection prevention control.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent is required.
• Proven experience in a similar general service, cleaning, or support role is a strong advantage.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong sense of responsibility, honesty, and reliability.
• Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of hygiene and safety standards.
• Must be a resident of or near Mbale City, Eastern Region.
