About the Role

As a Laboratory Technologist at C-Care Gulu, you will play a critical role in patient care by ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic testing. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the laboratory department, following strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) to deliver reliable results that guide medical treatment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out the day-to-day operational running of the laboratory department
• Identify optimal methods for specimen collection and retrieval
• Prepare specimens appropriately for various laboratory tests
• Perform testing procedures accurately while adhering to established SOPs
• Ensure efficient delivery of accurate laboratory reports to clinicians
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration
• Follow quality control and assurance protocols meticulously
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
• Keep accurate records of tests performed and results obtained

Requirements and Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognised institution
• Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a clinical laboratory setting
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and safety protocols
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy for data entry and report generation
