Job Description

Join the Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI) in Entebbe as a Laboratory Assays Quality Assistant and contribute to vital public health research in Uganda. This position is part of the CEPI-UVRI Centralised Laboratory Network (CLN), working at the forefront of immunology laboratory operations.

Position Summary:
The Quality Assistant will provide essential quality oversight for immunology laboratory operations, supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of the laboratory's Quality Management System (QMS). This role ensures GCLP compliance and regulatory standards while fostering continuous quality improvement in Uganda's premier virology research institution.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide quality oversight for immunology laboratory operations
• Support development and implementation of Quality Management System (QMS)
• Monitor and maintain GCLP and regulatory compliance
• Facilitate internal and external laboratory audits
• Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain quality control documentation and records
• Support laboratory staff in quality assurance practices

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Sciences, or related field
• Minimum 2 years experience in laboratory quality management
• Knowledge of GCLP, ISO standards, and quality systems
• Experience with laboratory audits and compliance
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
