Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage robust security measures to protect Airtel Uganda's IT systems, networks, and data.
• Continuously monitor IT infrastructure for security breaches, intrusions, and suspicious activity.
• Plan and conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
• Develop, update, and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and standards in line with best practices.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing detailed reports and remediation plans.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies relevant to the Ugandan and regional context.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure security is integrated into all projects and systems.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on IT security awareness and protocols.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in IT security, information security, or cybersecurity.
• Professional certification such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) is highly preferred and will be a strong advantage.
• Proven experience in security monitoring, incident response, and conducting security audits.
• In-depth knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and other security technologies.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud security principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
